Utility Payments can also be paid directly from your bank account each month around the 20th. To apply for this service, bring a voided check into City Hall and fill out an application.

Process for Obtaining Utility Services

When moving to a location in the City, application for new utility service is required. You will need to fill out and sign a Utility Application Form at the City offices or you can print the form referenced above. A $75 deposit must be paid at the time of application. Deposits will be refunded to your account after one year of occupancy if payments are made in a timely manner. Renter's deposit will be credited back to their account when vacating.

Newly constructed dwellings will need proof of occupancy from the Syracuse City Building Department (825-7235) when applying for utility services.

Utility Disconnect

When moving to a new location either in the City or elsewhere, you need to fill out a Utility Disconnect Form at the City Offices (or you can print one by clicking here). This ensures that your deposit is refunded and that no additional charges are added to your account after you leave.
